Wall art, brought to life.

The Frame Wall Planter is modern wall decor unlike anything else on your wall. A sculptural white ash frame that turns a living plant into a piece of art. Where most wall decor is flat, printed, and forgettable, the Frame adds dimension, texture, and quiet movement: real greenery, framed and elevated, styled the way you’d style anything you love.

It’s a study in restraint. A clean, elongated silhouette carved from solid white ash hardwood cradles a spun-aluminum vessel, holding your plant like a subject worth framing. The effect is architectural and organic at once. A living wall sculpture that brings warmth, life, and a sense of intention to the walls most decor overlooks.

This is the rare piece of wall decor that changes with you. Swap in a trailing pothos for soft, spilling greenery, or a sculptural fern for something fuller.

The Frame Wall Planter is yours to style, and it never looks the same twice. (We’ll point you to our favorite pairings below.)

Designed by founder Jenn Braidwood and made in small batches, the Frame is the alternative to the framed print everyone else has.

Considered, sculptural, and unmistakably alive.

Living wall art for every room of your home:

Living room decor — a living centerpiece above a sofa, console, or media unit

Entryway decor — the first thing guests see, and the last thing they forget

Bedroom decor — soft, organic greenery beside a dresser or above a nightstand

Home office decor — a calm, sculptural focal point on a video-call wall

Dining room decor — a fresh alternative to the framed print everyone else has

Kitchen decor — trailing herbs or pothos, styled like art

Hallways & Nooks — the in-between walls that deserve more

Product Care

Designed to last. Made to be lived with.

Your Frame Wall Planter is crafted from solid white ash hardwood, small-batch made, and finished by hand. With a little care, it’s built to grow more beautiful with time.

A few simple notes from our studio:

  • Keep your piece indoors. Like most natural hardwood, white ash is happiest away from direct, prolonged sun and the damp of outdoor air.
  • Dust the wood gently. A soft, dry cloth is all it takes to keep the grain looking its best. Skip harsh cleaners and excess moisture on the wood itself.
  • Water at the sink, not the wall. The spun-aluminum vessel is designed for easy watering away from the Frame — see the Houseplant Care section below for the simple method.
  • Let the wood patina. Natural hardwood mellows and deepens over the years. That gentle change is part of the character, not a flaw.

Cared for simply, your Frame is designed to be a piece you keep and restyle — for years.

Houseplant Care with The Frame

How to plant, and how to water.

The spun-aluminum vessel has a small drainage hole at the base, fitted with a watertight plug — so you can plant your houseplant two ways.

PLANTING

  • Grow pot (recommended): Slip your plant, still in its nursery grow pot, directly into the vessel. No transplanting, no mess, and the easiest watering.
  • Direct planting: Fill the spun aluminum vessel with potting soil, and plant your houseplant directly inside.

WATERING

With a grow pot:

  • 1. Lift the grow pot out of the vessel
  • 2. Water at the sink, and let it drain for a few seconds
  • 3. Slip it back into the vessel

Planted directly:

  • 1. Lift the pot off the Frame
  • 2. Remove the watertight plug from the bottom
  • 3. Water the plant at the kitchen sink
  • 4. Let the soil drain completely (20 - 30 minutes)
  • 5. Replace the plug
  • 6. Return the pot to the Frame

A small ritual, either way — and the one that keeps your plant and your Frame looking their best.

Returns & Exchanges

Dimensions

Frame Wall Planter: 7"W x 21"L x 5"D
Included Pot: 5"W x 4.25"H (includes drainage hole & plug)

Materials

Three materials. Chosen with intention.

Every Frame Wall Planter is composed of solid white ash hardwood, a spun-aluminum vessel, and concealed mounting hardware engineered to hold real weight.

Each material was chosen for the way it catches light, holds shape, and turns a houseplant into a piece of wall-mounted art.

Solid White Ash Hardwood

A North American hardwood prized for its pale, open grain and soft, natural tone. White ash takes finish beautifully and reveals a different pattern across every piece. No two are exactly alike.

You'll feel the difference the moment you lift one. Solid hardwood has a real, substantial weight to it. The kind of presence you simply don't get from pine, plywood, MDF, or veneer. It's a quiet signal of quality, seen & felt simultaneously.

Spun Aluminum Vessel

The pot at the heart of the Frame is spun aluminum, not molded plastic or fragile ceramic. Spinning is an artisan metalworking process that shapes a single sheet of aluminum over a form, producing a seamless, lightweight vessel with a clean, modern silhouette.

It won’t crack if it’s knocked, it won’t chip at the rim, and its matte finish sits in quiet contrast against the warm wood. A small drainage hole at the base, fitted with a watertight plug, makes watering simple however you choose to plant.

The pot is included as standard — there’s nothing else to source.

Concealed Mounting Hardware

Because the Frame holds a real, potted plant, it’s built to mount securely and disappear. Every piece ships with the hardware you need to anchor it to the wall — engineered to carry the weight of soil and water and to stay exactly where you placed it, year after year. No visible brackets. No improvising at the hardware store.

Designed by Jenn Braidwood

Every curve, joint, and proportion is the result of a founder-led design process.

Drawn, refined, and prototyped in our San Diego studio before being produced in small batches by our trusted manufacturing partners.

The materials are not incidental. They are the design.

How To Install

The Frame Wall Planter

A few minutes. A drill. A wall transformed

Installation Guide:

  • 01 - Drill Pilot Hole + Install Anchor

Mark your spot, then drill a pilot hole with a 3/8" bit. Gently tap the plastic anchor in until it sits flush with the wall. Drilling into a stud? Skip the anchor.

  • 02 - Assemble the Frame

You have two wood pieces. The front piece has a small hole at the top for the wooden cap. Hold them together with the eyelets at the bottom facing each other and the hole for the cap facing you.

  • 03 - Mount to the Wall

Line up the holes at the top of both pieces. Thread the included screw through and drive it into the anchor (or stud) with your drill.

  • 04 - Add Cap, Pot Holder & Pot

Fit the wooden cap into the front piece to hide the screw head. Slot the metal pot holder into the eyelets — longer legs at the back, shorter legs at the front. Set your pot in place.

A Houseplant Guide

Plants To Pair With the Frame

We've got the answers

Most Common Questions

What size housePlant fits in the frame?

Houseplants in 4-inch grow pots are the sweet spot. Designed to sit snugly in each Frame’s spun-aluminum vessel with just the right proportions.

Anything smaller and the scale feels off; anything larger and the grow pot won’t fit.

If you find a bigger plant you can’t resist (a 5- or 6-inch), just plant it directly into the vessel using the direct-planting method in the Houseplant Care section above.

Does the Frame Include a Plant?

It doesn't and here's why:

We haven't figured out the best way to ship the fuller, trailing houseplants that look most striking in the Frame. But, we are working on it, so stay tuned! For now pick them in person from a local nursery or plant shop.

Where’s the best place to buy a houseplant for my Frame?

A local, independent plant shop or nursery. Every time.

Plants at independent shops are typically tended to by people who actually know them: properly watered, properly lit, and chosen to thrive in your region. That care shows up in the plant you bring home. Healthier, hardier, and ready to settle into your Frame without skipping a beat.

As a small business ourselves, we always prefer supporting fellow small businesses. Big-box stores can work in a pinch, but plants there have usually traveled further and sat in less attentive conditions before reaching the shelf.

Bonus: the staff at independent shops are some of the best resources you’ll find for picking the right plant for your space. Tell them you’re styling a wall planter, and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Jenn knows a ton of beautiful plant shops all over the country so feel free to email her at hello@braidandwood.com for a suggestion if you want one.

I'm a renter. Can I install the Frame Wall Planter in my rental without damaging the walls?

Yes, just plan ahead a little more than you would if you were purchasing our V-Hanger or Plant Shelf.

Because the Frame holds a real, potted plant, it mounts with the included hardware. If you can install into a wall stud, that’s the easiest path. If you’re installing into drywall, a drywall anchor (included) gives it a solid, weight-bearing hold.

The holes are small (maybe a half inch in diameter) and easily patched with a dab of spackle when it’s time to move on. A drill is the only tool you’ll need.

I love the Frame, but I'm not sure how to style it in my space. Can you help?

Absolutely. Send a photo of your space to hello@braidandwood.com and Jenn will personally write back with styling guidance - placement, spacing, plant pairings, and how to make your Frame feel like it belongs.

It's one of the quiet perks of buying from a founder-led studio.
