The Bevel Bookend Set is a pair of modern bookends with a difference you notice immediately: they don’t match. One is a clean, weighted arch of solid white ash on a honed marble base. The other carries the same arch and base — plus a mini spun aluminum vessel and a living air plant, perched where you’d never expect to find one.

Each bookend is a study in mixed materials: a beveled arch of solid white ash, a slim brass-finished steel accent tracing its edge, a base of honed marble for weight and cool contrast, and — on one side — the signature matte white spun aluminum vessel found across the Braid & Wood line. Wood, stone, metal, and plant in one small composition.

The set arrives fully assembled and ready to style. Set the vessel in place, add an air plant if you’d like one, and slide your books between. No hardware, no tools, no second step.

A few simple notes from our studio:

• Keep the set indoors. The ash and marble are made for interior styling, not the elements.
• For everyday upkeep, a soft, dry cloth is all you need — a light dust now and then keeps the ash, marble, and metal looking their best.
• When it’s time to water or mist your air plant, remove it from the bookend first. Honed marble and finished wood prefer to stay dry.

Treat it well, and it’ll do the same for your shelf.

The Bevel brings together solid white ash hardwood, honed marble, brass-finished steel, and spun aluminum. Each was chosen for how it plays against the others — warm against cool, matte against sheen, grain against stone.

Each material was chosen for the way it catches light, holds shape, and adds quiet dimension to your space.

Solid White Ash Hardwood

A North American hardwood prized for its pale, open grain and soft, natural tone. White ash takes finish beautifully and reveals a different pattern across every piece. No two are exactly alike. 

You'll feel the difference the moment you lift one. Solid hardwood has a real, substantial weight to it. The kind of presence you simply don't get from pine, plywood, MDF, or veneer. It's a quiet signal of quality, seen & felt simultaneously. 

Honed Marble

Each arch sits on a base of honed marble — stone finished to a soft, matte surface rather than a high polish. It gives the Bevel the weight a bookend needs and a cool, quiet counterpoint to the warmth of the ash. Veining varies naturally from set to set.

Powder-Coated Steel

A slim accent of brass-finished steel traces the edge of the ash arch — a fine line of warmth that frames the wood and ties the set to the brass details across the rest of the Braid & Wood collection.

Spun Aluminum 

The pot at the heart of the Bevel Bookend Set is spun aluminum, not molded plastic or fragile ceramic. Spinning is an artisan metalworking process that shapes a single sheet of aluminum over a form, producing a seamless, lightweight vessel with a clean, modern silhouette.

It won’t crack if it’s knocked, it won’t chip at the rim, and its matte finish sits in quiet contrast against the warm wood. 

The pot is included as standard — there’s nothing else to source.
