Most Common Questions
Could I just use a nail or a hook from the hardware store instead?
You could. A standard nail or picture hanger hook will hold the weight. But that's all it will do.
And a piece of hardware that was never meant to be seen can actually take away from a design, leaving your piece looking hung on the wall rather than styled on it.
The Diamond Hook does the opposite. Its angular shape, the proportions of the piece, and the finish are all designed to be seen.
It doesn't just hold your piece up; it completes it. The hook becomes part of the composition, so the whole thing reads as intentional, finished, and designed.
A hardware-store hook does one job. This one does several. You won't find another quite like it.
Which hook goes with which piece? Does it matter?
Founder and designer Jenn Braidwood pairs the Diamond Hook with the Air Plant Shelf + Pot and the Oval Hook with the V-Hanger.
The angular diamond plays against the straight line of the Air Plant Shelf + Pot and the soft oval plays against the sharp V shelf of the V-Hanger. Each pairing creates just a bit of contrast to bring the entire look together.
Does it matter?
Not functionally. Either hook will hold any Air Plant Shelf or V-Hanger in the collection, up to 5 lb.
So the pairing is a styling recommendation, not a rule.
If you prefer the oval against your Air Plant Shelf + Pot, go for it!
A Note On Black vs. Gold:
Matte Black is made for our Dark and Stormy colorway — the hook's black picks up the black ring your piece hangs from, so the two read as one continuous line.
Gold/Brass pairs with our Classic Shimmer and Mixed Metal colorways — the warm brass echoes the 1.5-inch brass ring, tying the hook and the piece together.
What kind of walls does the hook work on?
The hooks are made for standard drywall, where they install with a single small nail and a hammer. No anchors, no drill.
They're not designed for brick, tile, or concrete, which need specialized hardware we don't include.
