The Curve Wall Shelf is a floating shelf that mounts to your wall in three unique ways, giving you three distinct looks in one piece - pick the orientation that suits your space & your style.

The form is a single continuous bend of layered white ash, finished with a soft matte sale that lets the gorgeous natural wood grain shine. A duo of slim brass-finished bars create a strong architectural detail that hosts the included spun aluminum vessel. Position the vessel anywhere - centered, offset, wherever the composition wants it.

The Curve Wall Shelf arrives thoughtfully composed: shelf, vessel, metal cradle, every piece of mounting hardware, and a wall template that take the guesswork out of placement and installation. Your Curve Wall Shelf is made from sealed white ash, plated stainless steel, and aluminum — materials chosen to look better with time, not worse.

A few notes from our studio:

Keep it indoors. The matte seal on the ash is water-resistant, not waterproof, and the piece is designed for interior walls.
Dust the wood gently. A soft, dry cloth is all it takes to keep the grain looking its best.
Skip harsh cleaners and excess moisture on the wood itself.
Water at the sink, not the wall. The spun-aluminum vessel is designed for easy watering away from the Curve Wall Shelf— see the Houseplant Care section below for the simple method.
Let the wood patina. Natural hardwood mellows and deepens over the years. That gentle change is part of the character, not a flaw.

Houseplant Care with The Curve

How to plant, and how to water.

The spun-aluminum vessel has a small drainage hole at the base, fitted with a watertight plug — so you can plant your houseplant two ways.

PLANTING

Grow pot (recommended): Slip your plant, still in its nursery grow pot, directly into the vessel. No transplanting, no mess, and the easiest watering.
Direct planting: Fill the spun aluminum vessel with potting soil, and plant your houseplant directly inside.

WATERING

With a grow pot:

1. Lift the grow pot out of the vessel
2. Water at the sink, and let it drain for a few seconds
3. Slip it back into the vessel

Planted directly:

1. Lift the pot off the metal cradle
2. Remove the watertight plug from the bottom
3. Water the plant at the kitchen sink
4. Let the soil drain completely (20 - 30 minutes)
5. Replace the plug
6. Return the pot to the metal cradle

Materials

Three materials. One continuous line.

The Curve Wall Shelf is composed of layered white ash, electroplated stainless steel, and spun aluminum. Each was chosen for what it makes possible — a beautiful continuous curve, a rail that stays bright, a vessel light enough to lift with one hand.

Layered White Ash

The curve is the whole idea, and it's only possible because of how the wood is engineered.

Thin layers of North American white ash are pressed and bent into a single continuous form, then sealed in a matte, water-resistant finish that keeps the pale, open grain visible.

Look at the edge and you'll see the layers themselves — a quiet record of how the piece came to be. Every sheet of ash grains differently, so no two shelves are exactly alike.

Electroplated Stainless Steel

The rail is formed from stainless steel and electroplated in a warm brass finish. Stainless underneath means it holds its shape and resists corrosion; the plating on top gives it the glow of brass without the upkeep. The cradle shares the same finish and slides along the rail with a clean, precise fit.

Spun Aluminum

The included is vessel is made from spun aluminum, not molded plastic or fragile ceramic. Spinning is an artisan metalworking process that shapes a single sheet of aluminum over a form, producing a seamless, lightweight vessel with a clean, modern silhouette.

It won’t crack if it’s knocked, it won’t chip at the rim, and its matte finish sits in quiet contrast against the warm wood. A small drainage hole at the base, fitted with a watertight plug, makes watering simple however you choose to plant.

The pot is included as standard — there’s nothing else to source.

Simple To Hang

Installation Guide:

01 | Choose Your Orientation

The ledge, the column, or the nook. Pick your favorite orientation then tape the included template on your wall to match.
02 | Drill & Anchor

Drill through the three marks on the template to create your pilot holes. If you've found a stud, you're ready for the hanger bolts. If you're on open drywall, anchors come next.
03 | Remove Template & Add Anchors (Drywall Only)

Tap the anchors into your pilot holes. If you are installing into a stud then skip the drywall anchors.
04 | Secure Hanger Bolts

Fit the hanger bolt into to your drill bit and secure. Then drive it into the stud or anchor. Repeat for each mark.
05 | Secure to The Wall

Align the hanger bolts to the mounting holes on the back of the shelf and push the shelf toward the wall. Use a rubber mallet to secure.
06 | Add The Finishing Touch

Slide the cradle onto the brass bars and position it where you'd like, then nest the included vessel into the cradle. Style with a pretty pop of green & enjoy!

Most Common Questions

What are the three orientations, and do I have to decide before I buy?

No — every Curve Wall Shelf hangs all three ways.

Curve Left or Curve Right:

Set the shelf horizontally with the bend wrapping down one side, giving you a long ledge and a short vertical.

Vertical:

Turns the whole piece on end for a slim, sculptural bracket with the vessel resting at the bottom.

The included template adjusts for whichever you choose, and you can always re-hang it in a different orientation later if your room changes.

Do you offer this in other finishes?

I'm a renter. Can I hang this without damaging the walls?

Yes, just plan ahead a little more than you would if you were purchasing our wall decor accessories.

Because the Curve Wall Shelf was designed to hold real weight, it mounts with the included hardware that's a little more heavy-duty.

If you can install into a wall stud, that’s the easiest path. If you’re installing into drywall, a drywall anchor (included) gives it a solid, weight-bearing hold.

The holes are fairly small (maybe a half inch in diameter) and will need to be patched with a dab of spackle when it’s time to move on.

A drill is the only tool you’ll need.

Does it come with a plant?

No. The matte white vessel is included and ready for a plant, but what goes in it is up to you.

Can I move the metal cradle after it's installed?

Yes. The cradle slides along the rail and isn't fixed in place, so you can shift it toward the curve, center it, or push
it to the open end whenever you restyle.

What are the dimensions?

The shelf is 28 inches long, 8 inches deep, and 10 inches high in its horizontal orientations.

Hung vertically, it's 10 inches wide and 28 inches tall.

I love it, but I'm not sure how to style it in my space. Can you help?

Absolutely. Send a photo of your space to hello@braidandwood.com and Jenn will personally write back with placement, orientation, and plant guidance — and whether a second shelf would make the wall sing.

How Do I Know If I Should Buy One or More than one?

If you're dressing a single focal point — beside a desk, above a nightstand or a smaller wall then one is complete on its own.

If you're working with a wider larger wall, the Curve Duo, Trio, or Quad lets you play with a variety of really unique orientations and layouts. This is where the design possibilities really open up! So check them all out and don't hesitate to reach out if you need guidance.
